My bio
Joel Bautista, MD, FACS, is a general surgeon at UF Health Surgical Specialists – Medical Center of Deltona.
Dr. Bautista attended Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and completed a general surgery residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. He then worked 15 years in North Central Missouri at Moberly Regional Medical Center and the surrounding Good Samaritan Hospital, Pershing Memorial Hospital and Hedrick Medical Center. He held several leadership roles in these hospitals, including vice chief of staff and chair/director of the respective departments of surgery.
Prior to joining UF Health, Dr. Bautista worked over 11 years at AdventHealth DeLand. He served as chief of surgery, Adventist Health East Region medical director and cancer committee surgical representative, and in several other leadership positions. He has also served as a physician for Good Samaritan Clinic and a team physician for DeLand High School and Stetson University. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Bautista has served as president of the Volusia County Medical Society and as a delegate for the Florida Medical Association.
