My bio
Dr. Romero was born in the Philippines and immigrated to California after completing college. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Assumption College in the Philippines and went on to complete both her master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at Palo Alto University. She completed her pediatric neuropsychology internship with Virginia Beach City Public Schools, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology within the Division of Pediatric Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota (U of MN). Dr. Romero also received fellowship training through the U of MN Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program.
After serving as an Assistant Professor in Minnesota for three years, Dr. Romero relocated to Florida. She initially worked in private practice, conducting developmental and neuropsychological evaluations and interventions for children and adults, as well as providing clinical supervision.
Currently, Dr. Romero is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Psychology. She serves as the Service Director for UF Health Psychoeducational and Neuropsychological Assessment Services and is a member of the UF Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment (CAN) Clinical Operations Committee. She supervises graduate students, psychology interns, and postdoctoral fellows in complex neuropsychological assessments and comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations. With over 20 years of experience working with neurodivergent individuals, Dr. Romero has authored presentations, research articles, and book chapters in the areas of autism and neuropsychology, with a particular emphasis on multicultural considerations.
