My bio
Robert Amdur, MD, is the Rodney R. Million Professor of Radiation Oncology in the department of radiation oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine.
Dr. Amdur pursued both his medical degree and residency in radiation oncology at UF. Then, he completed is fellowship in radiobiology at Colorado State University. Dr. Amdur’s extensive research skills has led to the publication of hundreds of articles in medical journals and authorship of three books. His current research focuses on improving treatment for patients with tumors of the head and neck, and his clinical interests include brain tumors, spine tumors, head and neck cancer, and thyroid cancer.
Dr. Amdur is board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology. In addition to his publications and presentations, his administrative roles include leadership positions in several major national organizations related to radiation oncology and research regulation. Dr. Amdur is the Editor-in-Chief of “Practical Radiation Oncology,” and he is also a member of various societies, such as the American Medical Association and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
