A neurologic therapist is a therapist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with movement problems due to stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS and other diseases or injuries involving the nervous system. Neurologic physical, occupational and speech therapists are part of the neuro team and are proficient in assisting a patient with neuromuscular recovery and functional retraining to help improve or restore the mobility, activities of daily living skills, cognitive skills and/or speech/language skills needed to optimize life.
