An exceptional Nurse Resident experience at UF Health Central Florida.
The Nurse Residency Program at UF Health Central Florida is a 12-month program designed to support nursing school graduates as they transition into their first professional nursing role. The program consists of a variety of mentorship, simulation and hands-on clinical experiences that emphasize and develop the skills necessary to become a successful part of the health care team.
This program is designed for recent graduates of accredited Registered Nurse and Practical Nurse programs with less than one year of acute care experience. Participants receive
support while entering practice with mentorship, education, simulation and hands-on clinical experiences.
Nurse residents will:
- Develop critical thinking skills with over 80 hours of hands-on practice in a safe environment
- Receive guidance, mentorship and clinical development from professional nurse preceptors
- A program that respects your new degree and eases your transition to practice
- A free NCLEX review course to help prepare you for your exam; we’re here to support you as you prepare to support the communities you’ll serve
- More than 80 hours of evidence-based curriculum that promotes confidence and excellence
- Personalized progress evaluations during orientation to keep you grounded and on track
- Earn compensation starting on Day 1
- One full year of support, encouragement and reflective practice events
