My bio

My name is David Estores, MD, and I am an associate professor of medicine in the division of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, serve as the medical director of the Digestive Disease Specialists Clinic and am the chief quality officer. I earned my medical degree from the University of the Philippines in Manila and completed my internal Medicine Residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, followed by a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

The primary focus of my professional career is the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the esophagus, particularly as they pertain to Barrett’s Esophagus and esophageal cancer. I collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of laryngology surgeons, speech pathologists, advanced therapeutic endoscopists and cancer specialists to provide innovative treatment for diseases involving the throat. My clinical research interest focuses on upper gastrointestinal conditions, such as laryngeal strictures, Barrett’s Esophagus, and endoscopic lumen restoration. My secondary focus is on the education and training of medical students, residents and fellows.

I remain engaged in practice as a member of the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology and as a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association. I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
