UF Health is proud to offer nationally recognized, compassionate and personalized obstetrics and gynecology care for every phase of life, according to U.S. News & World Report rankings.
Gynecological care
Every woman has different needs. We provide comprehensive, compassionate, state-of-the-art care to women with a broad range of gynecologic problems. We provide primary as well as tertiary care and offer non-surgical, minimally invasive and traditional surgical options.
UF Health is recognized as a Center of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Gynecology by the Surgical Review Corporation. As pioneers in the field, our physicians are committed to providing the most advanced surgical care, including the latest minimally invasive and robot-assisted techniques.
Centering pregnancy - group prenatal care
UF Health offers a model of group prenatal care to help reduce the risk of premature birth. The UF Health Women’s Center – Medical Plaza has been designated as the first Centering Pregnancy site in North Florida by the Centering Healthcare Institute.
Pregnant women who wish to participate in the Centering Pregnancy model are grouped by their due dates. After a standard visit to their provider, the women join a group during their fourth month of pregnancy and meet monthly for 1.5-hour sessions. During these sessions, the women receive all the components of individual prenatal care. The women and their provider also discuss birth and newborn care as well as overall health and stress management.
Potential participants must select their provider from within the group of approved providers at UF Health Women’s Center and be less than four months pregnant. To participate, call 352.265.8200.
Obstetric care
At UF Health, we are leaders in providing compassionate patient-centered care that is tailored for the needs of individual women and their pregnancies. Our comprehensive team of clinicians, nurses and staff are highly skilled experts and provide quality care for both the most normal and the most complex of pregnancies.
If needed, UF maternal-fetal medicine specialists are obstetricians with extra training and experience in high-risk pregnancy conditions, board-certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine. They provide special services, such as comprehensive obstetric ultrasound scans, prenatal genetic testing and coordinated care for those with other conditions including diabetes, heart disease and HIV.
On delivery day, our renovated labor and delivery rooms foster an environment of comfort. Rooms include wireless monitoring, soaking tubs, couches and chairs for support people and a flat screen television, among other amenities.
Complimentary valet parking is also available for triage visits and on delivery day for pregnant patients and their drivers. A voucher will be provided by Labor & Delivery staff.
Gynecologic oncology
UF Health gynecologic oncologists specialize in the treatment of patients with gynecologic cancers including cancers of the uterus, cervix, vagina, ovary, fallopian tube, vulva and gestational trophoblastic disease.
Urogynecology
Urogynecology, also known as female pelvic medicine, provides a complete approach to women’s pelvic health. UF Health has the only fellowship-trained female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery physicians in North Central Florida. Our specialists use a collaborative approach with a multidisciplinary pelvic floor team to treat women with pelvic floor disorders including urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain.
Labor & delivery and COVID-19
You and your baby’s safety is of the utmost importance to us here at UF Health Women’s Center. That is why all of our offices and labor and delivery units are taking appropriate precautions to ensure mom and baby’s safety amongst COVID-19 concerns. In addition to all of the protective measures we have already been enforcing, we now have designated separate labor/delivery areas for moms who may have come into contact with the virus and a separate area for those who have not. Our desire is to keep all moms and babies as safe and healthy as possible during this time, using the highest level of resources and expertise.
